So the rescue I got Dex from hold charity walks quite regularly. There are usually around 50 dogs on these things, so as you can imagine having a dog reactive dog in this setting is far from ideal (we have missed several as I don't think flooding with him helps).

So recently and with the help of his martingale headcollar he has been much less reactive to other dogs............ he tries to lunge hits headcollar gets a "LEAVE IT" and all is well..........

He got out of the car today and i was ready for the explosion.......... the screaming...... the foot stamping. It erm didn't happen. :D He sauntered next to me through all these dogs like he'd done it for years, even the gobby GSD's did not make him react :D

EVERYONE was like " is that Dex?" lol Ok so the heat makes him a bit more subdued, but even so he mingled like a pro- so proud of my boy. Just goes to show that even if a dog is only getting decent handling/ training 3-4 days a week- they can improve.

Can not wait for the day I can have him living with me again...........
Usually the lunch stop is the worst time for Dex- he simply does not agree with stopping/waiting..... but he did this today (within spitting distance of at least 10 dogs) instead of screaming his head off- so proud of my boy!

Well done Lexie, I love that photo of him looking at you lovingly, its like he is saying look at me mum being good, what do you want me to do now.:)

You have worked so hard with Dex and its paying off, hope its not too long before he is living with you for good.

He was just like that the whole way round.......... 5 miles...... I'd say "dexie" he'd turn and go "yes mum, what do you want"........... amazing ginger critter.....:)

ETS_ the new man has a VERY calm older Lab bitch so things are looking good!! On the Dex living with me front!

Have the 2 dogs met? if so maybe she is rubbing off on him, plus if you are happy that will also rub off on him, you are also looking very well, I do see your posts on s/b and hope life is happier for you now.

Hang in there CT- had my first Springer experience last week ( new OH's parents have one) - guess what I want now??????????? :D
Dexie has several new girlfriends now............. lump that he is don't know why they fancied him....... down fall of not being able to feed him every meal time.....:o

DG- no not yet, but they will.... she's a rescue breeding bitch, and very subdued and calm, if a little over weight (can fix that lol). Lost 3 stone so that helps!! Apart from me and the ginger one being apart.... life is good!! :)
