I know you must all be sick and tired of me harping on

But I can't help it, I am just soooooo proud of my little pup!

He has had a bit of a pants week, had yet another upset tum (should learn that old solidified cheese sauce is not meant to be nicked from the bin

) The more he runs around the worse it gets, so he was on boring on the lead walks all week.

Today we went in the woods expecting manic spaniel to have returned.... He was brilliant, his reponse to the whistle is instant now, even when he is crashing through the woods out of sight!

He also did something he has never done before today. He went to disappear off down a path that he always buggers off down, but checked and noticed we were going straight on, changed his mind and came with us

He just seems to have a much bigger desire to stay with us, or at least keep us in sight, if he pops out the undergrowth and can't see us he will come and finds us before carrying on with his mad dashing
grin.gif

His walking to heel seems to have finally clicked now, he even managed to not pull whilst walking past the ducks the other day
grin.gif

He is also being a star in the garden, will sit and lie down from a distance, comes into the house if I whistle him, even leaving his friend (The Pigmy Goat!!) for the whistle

So for anyone with a dog that is less than keen to come back, don't give up!! I was told that Otto would never be safe off his lead, and after only four months he is a completely different dog!

I promise I will stop boring you all now, unless he does something amazing like rescues a small child from a well, or learns to speak

Hearing about pups growing up is never boring!! What a star he is and a stunning fella to boot, man that puppy dog has it all!!
smile.gif

He just seems to have got all serious and mature all of a sudden (although he is astill a daft gangly puppy most of the time
grin.gif
)

He is certianly a good advert for what lots of exercise does for so-called Manic Springers
grin.gif
All he does is sleep in the house!!

Well done you and Otto

How old is he now? Evie seems to have taken a few steps back with her recall, suspect it is hormone related (she is having her first season) but she is being very coy and running round me rather than coming straight in. She looks as if she is expecting a beating from me

We aren't going out of my field at the moment as I don't want the local lothario visiting, but think we will have to do some more work on the line when we do get out and about again.

He is 9 months now (Will be 10 months on the 10th of April)

He is still starting every walk off on the long line practising before I let him off, he knows the drill now though
grin.gif

He seems to be quite focused on me when he is coming back (although quite often something distracts him
blush.gif
) that in itself is a huge thing, as I didn't exist in OttoLand when we first started going for walks!

Hmmm, not so sure you would after today, the stupid animal nearly got mown over by a Transit Van, although I'm sure he wasn't expecting it to come ploughing through the woods...
grin.gif

Then he went gallumphing over to some girls galloping around on mad ponies, luckily he bottled out at the last second and came back
grin.gif

TBF today was his first ever go completely off the lead, and we normally never se a soul in the woods. And he did come back most of the times, just lapsed when it actually mattered!
grin.gif

He has spent all day in his garden running around like a loon, and now he is well and truely shattered!
