The Twelve Days of Difficult Horse Ownership, or Why Not to Give Horses as Christmas Presents...

On the first day of Christmas, my steed did give to me,
A journey to A&E!

On the second day of Christmas, my steed did give to me,
Both barrels hard,
And a journey to A&E!

On the third day of Christmas, my steed did give to me,
Three fly bucks,
Both barrels hard,
And a journey to A&E!

On the fourth day of Christmas, my steed did give to me,
Four sudden spooks,
Three fly bucks,
Both barrels hard,
And a journey to A&E!

On the fifth day of Christmas, my steed did give to me,
Five rears in hand,
Four sudden spooks,
Three fly bucks,
Both barrels hard,
And a journey to A&E!

On the sixth day of Christmas, my steed did give to me,
Six attempts to load,
Five rears in hand,
Four sudden spooks,
Three fly bucks,
Both barrels hard,
And a journey to A&E!

On the seventh day of Christmas, my steed did give to me,
Seven hours of grooming,
Six attempts to load,
Five rears in hand,
Four sudden spooks,
Three fly bucks,
Both barrels hard,
And a journey to A&E!

On the eighth day of Christmas, my steed did give to me,
Eight barrows of poo,
Seven hours of grooming,
Six attempts to load,
Five rears in hand,
Four sudden spooks,
Three fly bucks,
Both barrels hard,
And a journey to A&E!

On the ninth day of Christmas, my steed did give to me,
Nine suspicious plaits,
Eight barrows of poo,
Seven hours of grooming,
Six attempts to load,
Five rears in hand,
Four sudden spooks,
Three fly bucks,
Both barrels hard,
And a journey to A&E!

On the tenth day of Christmas, my steed did give to me,
Ten muddy gateways,
Nine suspicious plaits,
Eight barrows of poo,
Seven hours of grooming,
Six attempts to load,
Five rears in hand,
Four sudden spooks,
Three fly bucks,
Both barrels hard,
And a journey to A&E!

On the eleventh day of Christmas, my steed did give to me,
Eleven excited field mates,
Ten muddy gateways,
Nine suspicious plaits,
Eight barrows of poo,
Seven hours of grooming,
Six attempts to load,
Five rears in hand,
Four sudden spooks,
Three fly bucks,
Both barrels hard,
And a journey to A&E!

On the twelfth day of Christmas, my steed did give to me,
Twelve shredded turnouts,
Eleven excited field mates,
Ten muddy gateways,
Nine suspicious plaits,
Eight barrows of poo,
Seven hours of grooming,
Six attempts to load,
Five rears in hand,
Four sudden spooks,
Three fly bucks,
Both barrels hard,
And a journey to A&E!

PS - On the thirteenth day, the hapless owner joined HHO, and soon found a solution to their woes :) The difficult horse is still a little difficult, but far more manageable! The field mates remain excited, and the YO is now considering switching to farming llamas...:D
