my dually didnt work

I would like to say i have three other horses all came to me with problems ranging 17hand to 16.2 and there all sweethearts now but they were big bolshy and scared there owners to death hence why they are still with me. But i must say this one is a bag of nerves and he only 15 hands but he like he fighting for his life all the time and will hurt himself just to get away at what he thinks is danger i state again i dont think he naughty i think hes scared i would get help iv no shame in it and did get someone in who used to scared horses it upset him more she walked into the stable he climbed the back of the stable and got so distress had to ask her to back of he only just got use to me touching him i will ask her back but i want him to aleast trust someone hope we can bond but must say tonight he was excellent to come in a bridle so i spent hour grooming him i dont do this when he been bad and he does love a groom i posted because people do come up with good ideas and im open to trying anything but i will never smack him again big mistake on my part i think im the wrong side of forty to be buying rescue horses now again my mistake and i will have to learn fast. I dont think he ready to meet other people yet even with farrier has to be heavily sedated because hes scared of the farrier whos a man

Oh dear! It does sound like you're having a bit of a nightmare atm. I would definitely recommend you getting qualified help from someone. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it sounds as if you are 'babying' him - possibly because of his fear and his past. I think that he needs strong leadership (NOT bullying) to show him what to do. He sounds confused more than anything. Please don't take this the wrong way but I definitely think that you need to stop referring to him as a 'rescue horse', even in your own head. This is possibly allowing you to excuse his bad behaviour. Also, if you are anxious around him, specifically at the point coming into the field where he tends to have issues, he will feed off this and react.

I'm quite worried about you and him through some of the things you have said in your posts. You mentioned that 'it's like he's fighting for his life' and that he has reared up and struck at your head. It sounds as though he is blindly terrified AND has no respect for you which is a terrifying combination.
 
What do you mean by fully papered Andalucian? Andalucia is a region, not a breed.
Is your horse branded? Do you have a pedigree?
I ask because I have suspicions about his origins........ that you may not have figured.

The sophies i agree with you a 100 percent there i have used his past and fear to let him get away with it not anymore enough enough im gonna be more firm with him but fair my other horses are picking up on him playing up and not even getting growl as he explodes but tough he will have to explode and live with it and deal with it change of heart is my 17 hand warmblood played up tonight because of the new one if i can shout at him and does as he told so can the new one Thanks everyone next time you hear about this horse hes going to be wearing a halo
 
Be really careful - I have had one similar, and the history may not be what you think. Please please PM me before you hurt yourself or him accidentally.
