Who asked for/or complained for it to be pulled, then eh??

this forum has far too many bloody faceless whingers...

it was a GENUINE ask..turned into a circus by a few idiots...

i'll just be asking questions via PM...As it would seem most on here, with sensitive, delicate dispositions OBVIOUSLY prefer!!!

You ARE kidding???

Oh this place is pathetic. I would just do it on the quiet JM like many others have learned to do.

Unbelieveable. I'd start it again if I were you, I despise censorship and people who want to be protected from hearing anything they don't agree with. Its not just this place that's pathetic, the world has gone mad.

There seems to be less and less you are allowed to say on here all the time.

WOW i'v been reading this contraversy on lots of threads - it seems like a kind of fluffy do gooder v's big bad dealer feud.
Exept that reading between the lines its clear that the two people involved are both just trying to do their bit for the horses they come across.

JM07 - I also am one of those ghastly people who buys horses from sales. This is because they are cheaper, local and everyone of them is standing in a pen looking for a chance of a good life. I don't take many on but when finance and facilites allow I go and pick a youngster out to bring on.
I have never taken one of mine to the knacker but would do so if neccesary. Take no notice of those that criticise you, some people just cannot see reason. And those who stand in judgement of you for doing so are probably the same idiots that insist on bringing more horses into the country to 'save' them from the french.
Thus another british bred horse is denied a home.

hope that made sense

Unbelievable

.

This place has changed that's for sure; once upon a time we could all say what we wanted to say and we either agreed or we disagreed; no big deal, no threads pulled.

Sorry JM but I fear this place is now a pink fluffy pony forum ... just like most of the other horse forums. The lack of enforced moderation was one big plus that separated HHO from the others and made it so much better than elsewhere - not now it seems.

Ok, here's my thoughts on it....

When a thread begins to degenerate as early on as page one, it can only get worse. In my opinion, if certain members had stuck to the original topic to begin with, it could have turned into an interesting discussion instead of turning into a bloody fiasco.

Unlike some here, I hold my hands up to taking part in helping to throw the thread completely off topic. However, I make no apologies for openly speaking my mind and by doing so, certain members obviously didn't like what they where reading about themselves.

Personally, I could have understood the thread being pulled at some point because it went completely OT, but the last few posts I read as a 'lurker' seemed to have got it back on track.

Has anyone bothered to contact the mods to ask why it was pulled...or wouldn't they bother replying?

JM07 - I had hoped that this thread was a fresh start for that one. It would be a shame for the original topic to have to go "undercover" via PM when I think so many people on here would be interested in helping. Whoever pressed that inform mod button presumably did so because of the fighting rather than the original topic. I for one doubt that thread could have been rescued.

Do you feel you could start a new thread on the same subject (and hope nobody sabotages it)?

I support EMW and have pm'd JM07 about getting involved if she would like to. Am happy to do the same for anyone else who is interested.
I didn't see the original bunfight, thank goodness. I can say though that although EMW are on the side of the horse and they can get very sentimental at times (who doesn't?)... there is a strong core of practicality about what they do. They know when to put sentiment aside and roll up their sleeves and deal with reality. They are involved at the highest level trying to influence legislation, but not afraid to get their hands dirty at the markets, sometimes putting their personal safety on the line. They believe in rehabilitation and re-homing, they have strict limits on how many animals they will take in at any time. I don't deal with unrealistic animal collectors.

Okay people, I own and run the EMW Shropshire Sanctuary. If you want to ask a question I'll do my best to answer or pass it on to someone who can, if you want to raise an issue, fine, count me in, if you want to offer support, even better. The web site is www.emwuk.org.uk, you can PM me if you want or if you PM me I'll give you my email address.
Tinypony is right, we are realists but do try to help any horse in trouble. I currently have three who could well be starving to death or on a meat lorry if we hadn't offered a place of safety, and to feed and keep them takes all of the donated money. I use my own land and my haylage to help these horses, all donations go on vet fees, fariers and feed and bedding. No salaries, most volunteers put their hand in their own pockets quite frequently.
We aren't a big professional organisation paying big professional salaries - we do what we can and find loan homes wherever possible.
From this you will gather that I feel strongly - too many people talk the talk but not enough walk the walk.

I was well and truly hammered on another forum when I posted a reply asking the OP, who was "boasting" that her 2 year old colt had only reared twice at a local show, why she wasn't wearing a hard hat? Perfectly innocent, reasonable comment I thought, given that the pony was a known rearer . . . . but it's her head, after all . . .

The problem is some people don't like to be challenged, when they are challenged, and perhaps their misconceptions exposed, the first thing they do is revert to kindergarden and tell teacher.

Fact is if you cannot deal with people dissagreeing with you online - what hope have you got of living a normal life?

FROM HHO Admin.....via PM....as i'd asked what was going on....

Dear JM07

The thread in question was pulled after we received a complaint that it contained a number of personal attacks, some of which were directed at yourself. Personal attacks towards any forum user contravene the forum terms and conditions which lead to the thread being removed.

HHO Admin

.......so that's that then.....
thank you Admin....

Ive known Elaine from EMW Herefordshire for over 10 years and I know her toes would be curling if she knew the EMW name was being used for such a stupid, juvenile argument.
Please think of the damage certain comments can make to a small organisation, I know EMW would not like their name to be associated with such crap as contained in this thread.

JM07 made an offer to help......how did it degenerate so rapidly into the playground?

Actually, I hadn't heard of EMW before these threads and I am now very enlightened, impressed and considering how I might help. It's all to do with sorting the wheat from the chaff - and applies to much more than this thread.

JM07 has managed to open many eyes and I don't think anyone will be dismissing the invaluable and unenviable work done by EMW's representatives.

My hat has been taken off to many horse champions just lately.
