We need a good, proper equine shop in Central Scotland. There are none. Conchie's website is ok for stuff. Haven't been in their shop in years though (well over a decade). We have The Tack Room here and I refuse to go in even though I drive right past it several times a day. One of the lasses from work went in looking for new jody boots for work so didn't want to spend a fortune. She asked if they had any for less than £100. Their answer? "No we only stock high end products, we are trying to improve the dress sense and look of riders in the area." So they can bugger off.

I've never had an issue with Hope Valley, Old Mill or Tree house. It depends what you want.

Fairly disappointed this last 10 days to say the least…..

Firstly by equiflair saddlery….. purchased a jacket that they are STILL ADVERTISING AVAILABLE and they do not have any stock of it…..still awaiting a refund 3-5 days.

Hope Valley then advertise the same Mountain Horse Juno softshell jacket and so I order it on Wednesday and they also take my money and email me last night to say they also do not have any stock of the jacket but low and behold are still advertising stock!!! I had ordered quite a lot of other stuff so I dont want any of it now , just rather have my money back.
Another 3-5 days for a refund
GET A GRIP COMPANIES SERIOUSLY

Hope Valley did that to me with a hat. Ordered it and it didn’t arrive so I chased it, only to be told they were waiting for stock to come in. No communication to tell me this. I got a refund and went elsewhere.
I hate poor communication.

Viovet are really slow, they always have been but they are worse now.
I like 365vet for medicines, they're very efficient. Apart from feed, meds are about all I buy these days!

I ordered a pair of Mountain Horse boots from a Company named on this tread (I won’t name and shame yet) as they were the cheapest around. An email came back saying they would be sent in 16 days. That’s been and gone. Phoned them and they said they’ve yet to receive them from MH and are expecting them soon. TBH I wouldn’t have ordered from them if they weren’t in stock. They were supposed to be my birthday present from my husband but that’s also been and gone.

I did do a search here on the company before I ordered as I’d not heard of them and reviews were good 😕
@asmp did you get your boots yet?

Thank you @Elf On A Shelf I'll be sure to not give them any business! What cheek. Gatekeeping from a tack shop. We're in Scotland, not Wellington.

Have you ever tried the shop called dufinkle?

They are really good too!

Now I thought I had discovered nearly every tack shop in the UK, but never heard of this one!

Ill admit the first web impressions would make me wary! But glad you've had a good experience, I'll keep a open mind.

Omg @Barton Bounty how do you find these!

Unbelievable 🤣

Horse math Very fitting as I learned of some "horse math" today that says if you buy a new rug and they don't rip it, its basically free 🤣

With that logic, the big pile of rugs I'm struggling store hasn't cost me anything so I might as well treat myself!
Theres lots on there for you 😂😂😂

Leonard Coombe does mail order too. I used them in the summer for something very specific and the parcel came very quickly.
I'll have to have a look, they were my tack shop as a child and he fitted my ponies' saddles. It was either there or Woodlands or a stall at the weekly market but i preferred Coombes.

As an Equestrian retailer and online shopper it really saddens me to read about the same problems with the same retailers. There is a massive lack of regard for customer service, quick delivery and communication.

On the flip side, where I am in Cheshire, the local tack stores are terrible - and loads have closed, so there obviously isn’t the footfall there once was.

It’s SO bloody frustrating when you need something quickly!

Equine Splendour, great service, very helpful.
I have had trouble finding riding tights that fit me.
Charlotte at ES has been extremely helpful. She has measured herself and the tights for sizing a normal size chart doesn’t show, sent me quite a few explanatory emails and sent a selection of sizes for me to try.
I now have a very nice pair of riding tights and a few Polo mints too.
