My first experience of timewasters!

I put my little mare up for sale last night and lo and behold I had a local man come to see her today. Wonderful? No not wonderful at all!!!!
He tries her, she is faultless, he asks all sorts of leading questions about her, like the sort you would ask if you were serious. He then asked if I minded if he nipped to the shop to get some fags and have a think. No problem I said, just come back and let me know.
Two hours I waited and he didn't come back. I am now in tears, how can some people be so rude?
 
bl00dy 'ell, that is rude. I'd be tempted to leave a snotty voicemail. Better luck with the next one.
 
I probably should be rude to him back, but I don't really have it in me. Not sure someone with such bad manners should be allowed to buy my mare. He knew full well too, that I had two other people that wanted to see her, but wouldnt come up until he'd made a decision!!!
 
Maybe he went home and forgot or is consulting his wife etc?? You may still get a call hun. But if not then I would agree that was extremely rude!!
 
I don't think two hours is very long to think about buying a horse, I wouldnt be surprised if he wanted a day to think about it, consult his family like MagicJem said. However if he said he'd be 5 minutes it is a bit odd. I'd give him a call and say 'were you coming back today or do you need a bit longer to have a think?'
 
I dont think its long either, but to say he was popping to get fags and have a think, and for me to say I would wait for him to let me know, its a bit different. Plus now I am trying to call him, his phone is switched off.
 
Ah yes, that would be irritating with his phone switched off, he has to turn it on sometime though and then you can pounce!!

To be honest Im not sure I will bother, someone who is that complacent could be the same person who accidently forgets to ask someone to look after his horse when he's on holiday, or forgets to feed it.
 
He could asily have said, I shall have to sleep on it rather than lie or make up a silly excuse like that OR he could be uofront and say sorry, I don't think he/she is the one for me. Simple as.

Dont want to scare you . But i hope he isnt trying it out on the hope of somone to pinch it ??? With all the horses thats been stolen recently . I would be very wary . !!!!!
 
Be prepared for lots of timewasters like that. Even worse when you organise a time, get horse all ready to be seen and then they don't even show. It is a nightmare selling horses but suddenly the right person will come along (it could take months). The way I see it is would you want your mare actually going to someone like that?
