Well here goes nothing,
Took Ralph to the our 2nd competition (first was only a tiny CR) he was a gem, we decided we would do the 2ft3 and 2ft6 (thought this would be quick lmao) anyway warmed up lovely, got off to walk the course was a 2 phase so had 15 jumps to remember! (i can hardly remember 8) went 2nd in the class so had another quick warm up, he jumped like a dream cleared everything no spooking at fillers or running out at the double (did this at the clear round) so carried on with the 2nd phase had a near miss at the second to last but cleared it. thought we had been really slow and there were loads of ponies in the class so thought he wouldn't get placed (wasn't fussed either way) so i was shocked to be called back in 5th (about an hour later) out of 20.
so anyway waited to walk the 2ft 6 course very twisty and alot to remember (again 2 phase) hung around to get number on the board but they were taking to long so when to warm up, ended up 3rd from last. again warmed up lovely. he did another DC with no problems this time and the commentator said we were in 3rd place (que jaw nearly on ground) the last 2 when both having 4 faults each. so we ended up 3rd out of 23. again all speedy ponies. had a small mishap on the lap of honor he got very excited and started broncing
i am so happy with the lad right now, he is truly a superstar in the making. we have decided to do another unaff at 2ft9 to 3ft then try BS with him
just a couple of photos (please no comments on positions we are working on it) the rest will go in PG for those interested.
sharp turn for no 2
