... resulted in my face meeting the ground at great speed! My little borrowed pony was more interested in where her stable mate was than in jumping the fences, and dropped me in the ditch one fence from home. It was so fast I didn't even have time to put an arm out to save myself and landed full on my face- it's OK, just a bit bruised and grazed and I have a headache and a swollen lip.

But on the bright side, I haven't really jumped for 8 years and am very nervous, so even attempting x-country in the first place was a huge achievement for me. It was only small (about 2'-2'6") but 8 months ago I couldn't even have contemplated it. Here are a few piccies, unfortunately only the smaller fences were accesible to my photographer (my sister). I'd like to point out that she is not my pony, so I can take no responsibility for her obesity!!!

Awww well done. You must be feeling sore though. I've never had the joy of being face planted in the ground though many a time ive tasted some of the school surface.
