so i thought i would be brave and start reporting on my outings with Andy as i know like to hear how other people get on, good or bad.!!
quick bit of history - Andy is an 11yr old TB, we do mostly eventing with the odd bit of dressage and SJ.. He is a star in the dressage and a real machine XC but SJ is our down fall.. Not a naturally careful horse and quite spooky too, Andy can jump very well but unfortunatly due to several accidents when i was younger, i used to be a nervous wreck when it comes to SJ (tho not in XC strangely!) and always seemed to over-ride in the SJ causing A to loose his style and knock poles..
we have made some really good progess this last year and i am now starting to really enjoy the SJ.!!! i am determind to do well BE PN this year so we are out and about practicing as much SJ as poss..
Anyway.. t'was a mixed day;
started with the 3', warmed up very well, really pinging.. over 1 and 2 and then to fence 3, spooked v bad at 3 (not expecting this!) sharply off to the right, que me hanging on for dear life.!! managed to stay on, and carried on but he had 3 down as he was all over the place..
fence judge said 'very well sat.!' on my way out.!! by this point my right wrist was starting to hurt quite a bit.! used to get tendonitis when i was younger so raided the vet kit in the lorry and vet-wrapped my wrist up for the next class.. today is it very painful.!!! was a bit of struggle to do eveything up th yard this morning
3'3", what a difference.!! warmed up v well again, and went in.. jumped fantastically, just had no3 down so v chuffed with pony.!!
next SJ is 23rd Feb, RC area 17 winter league, again at Sparsholt, can't wait.!
Might have some pics but just waiting for the website to be updated..
Thanks for reading..
