Hi. A friend has decided, after lots of deliberations, to sell her youngster (she doesn't have the time or facilities and has decided she wants something she can compete now). Can you please advise how much and what sort of places to advertise this type. Opinions much appreciated

Bay TB Mare - approx. 15.3HH - prob. make 16.1HH. Rising 4. Broken to saddle and ready to back. Good confirmation and should pass a vet no problem. She is not registered but her Sire is Wizard King and Dam is Acorn Catcher.
Thanks!

Not a huge amount I would imagine. Also I would be surprised if she will grow another 2 inches when she is rising 4 now. However I may be very wrong as that's jusy my opinion

My boy was 3.5 and 16hand when I brought him, he is estimated to make 16.2hh+ by vets/friends/saddler.

Would say about 2.5k. Does she hack out etc?

ETS misread and thought she was backed etc. About 1k as it stands!!

For me I wouldnt pay alot I am afraid, £750 to £1,000.

Vicijp might be able to advise better as she is into racing. I noticed she put it to a racing Sire? Or am I getting confused?

I think that you're probably looking at the £1800 mark at the moment. However, backed - and you at least double your money if she's half decent.

Wouldn't imagine she's going to get much bigger - but that's a plus. A lot of people out there wanting nice 15hh horses.

Hi,
The mare would be worth a lot more backed, Wizard King's tend to be very easy to break and quiet to ride - should only be a matter of weeks (I had an unhandled 4yo by Wizard King to break couple of years ago - took me 10 days).
From the racing point of view she is worth £500 (unbacked 4yo by an unfashoinable stallion, out of mare of little note). The dam is well bred, but this mare would have been a 2yo sprinter - no one would consider her for jumping. It is likely she isnt going to grow much, I have never known a WK bigger than 16hh.
Personally, would break her in and ask £2500.

Thank you very much for replies! Friend hasn't measured her recently hence vague on height though she feels she might still have a little bit of growing to do. Your comments on the easy breaking and the big difference in value may have changed her mind - again. She has had her since she was 16mths old but was just getting frustrated with not being able to do anything

Will pass your comments on.
Thanks again.
