In the space of two weeks shes gone from not taking the cantact and sticking her head int he air in walk trot and canter, To suppling and taking the contact down.

Shes working through from behine and is round over her back nicely. Shes building muscles across her back and quarters and her work ethic has improved!

I'm so glad you are having a good time with her. You deserve to have some enjoyment after the crap time you have been through.

Don't get me wrong, I would have my oldies back in a heartbeat, but it is such a break to have a trouble free horse you can enjoy!

Pilates is good for back problems when riding. I went after my instructor told me off for hunching over - I physically couldn't strighten up as it hurt too much, now I can do it, although bad habits take a long time to unlearn!

It is great to hear you and Cato are getting on so well

What about when you get her back checked by the back person, getting yours checked aswell? I know my chiropractor will watch you ride then adress how you ride and how the horse goes because of this if you get me? Might be able to help you supple or tell you why its happening

Try:
Pilates, or specifically equi-lates;
Stretches before and after riding;
When riding, touch right toe with left hand, and vice versa;
When riding, raise knees up, turn them out to the sides, then force feet down rapidly (without stirrups).

Love the added (without stirrups) lol =o)

Thankyou everyone.. Will try as suggested above, And will have a word with the Mctimoney Lady..
