Our new(ish) yard is DIY. In fact it is so DIY we even have to change our own light bulbs! As a result though, my friend & I can just get on and no-one really interferes.

Or so I thought....

Next to our stables there is an alley that goes to the muck heap, and then there is a sort of wide open front stable/barn that you can put your horse into if you want to groom and don't want to tie up outside your stable. The other stables continue after this bit. We use this open space quite alot especially when it is raining as it is pretty useful.

Someone told us that there was a bucket to put your horses poop into but that you must empty it. I don't use this bucket as I like to get all the poop onto my shavings fork all in one go (the shovel is really small!) and then I walk to the muck heap just round the corner and throw it onto that.

The few days ago my friend called up to say that there was a huge poo outside one of our stables. I said that Boo must have pooped and I didn't notice. Then a couple of days after that there was another one, I had mucked out the night before & I knew it wasn't there when i left.

It turns out one of the women in the stable block the other side to us had dumped the bucket of poop outside our stable as we hadn't emptied it!

I know we are new, but neither me nor my friend use this blimming bucket! I find this so unbelievably rude, especially as she has been talking to us and not mentioned it!

I really object people dumping sh!t outside my stable and not bothering to find out whose it was and assuming it was the new girls! Should we say something to her? It is a fairly small yard and I don't want to upset people, but this is getting on my nerves!

Thanks!

It is exactly that sort of thing that means I am now in a yard on my own with no-one apart from me & my horses. I used to get fed up with other people dumping wheelbarrows full of other people's horses sh1te in my stable door!

I would say something, otherwise she won't know it wasn't you and won't stop doing it, but be pleasant in the way you do it. Explain that you haven't used the bucket and that you could have explained that to her if she had spoken to you about it instead of just emptying outside the box. Ask her nicely to talk to you if she has a problem in future as you want to get on with everyone. If you approach her nicely there is no need to fall out.

We had one livery who kept doing that despite being asked nicely to empty her wheelbarrow. She hasn't done it since I told her I would empty it back in her stable next time! YIt helps if you do it to the right person though!

I would have a polite word with her and explain it is not you that is not empting the bucket, said in the right way and should not cause any issues

Perhaps you could 'casually' mention in conversation with this lady that you never use the poop bucket because you put your poop straight in the muck heap and you also can't seem to understand why there always seems to be poop outside your stable, even when you clean up. Hopefully she'll feel like a wally and stop dumping crap outside your stable.
Bit of an idiot she is, not even raising it with you though. Surely if she wants your behaviour (or perceived behaviour) to change, she should speak to you about it.

I would engage her in conversation and be really casual and friendly with your attitude, then just drop in the conversation about you never use the pooh bucket and put your horses poo straight on the muckheap, then mention that some twats horse keeps dropping a pile of shite outside your stable and not clearing it up, and if you find out who keeps doing it you will stick it it up their arse, then all friendly say gotta go now as things to do, "see you later", and give a big smile, doubt it will happen again.

I'd scoop it back up and put it into the bucket then leave it (in the bucket) outside her door - or just hand it back to her saying it isn't yours

There's very nearly always someone like that on a yard - you either have to learn to get on with them or become very good at avoiding them

Talk to her but keep it pleasant and nice. Don't get angry or annoyed as you will fuel it. Show who is the better person!

I would like some cookies please now.

Ditto everybody's input, she sounds like an idiot, behaving like a child. If she isn't around I would just put the poo back in the bucket with a note saying "Not mine, think this belongs to you?" and sign it. Alternatively, wait until there are other people around and then address everybody saying what has happened and that obviously somebody is being really childish, please dont do it again as the poo does not belong to my horse.

More cookies please.

Cookies all round! With choccie bits in it (not my ponies poop though!!)

Thanks for your replies, love your work Pedantic... though I don't fancy shoving poop back up anythings arse!!

Might go for the putting it back in the bucket idea...

Please God let me win the lottery tonight so I don't have to put up with this anymore!!

**Dishes more cookies round with a hot cup of tea!**

She is just leaving the s1ht outside your stable because she thinks it is you not emptying the bucket but she doesn't want to confront you. I would just have a quiet polite word with her then she will feel very silly and hopefully leave you alone !

been there and had that done what I would do is to say in a really loud voice about the dung not possible being yours as you have already clean out the stable and just put the full bucket back. Do not empty said bucket as they will see it as you admiting guilt.

makes me sick to even think of it!!! It ended up in my stable a few times and made me want to be sick when I had to move it. OF course I put it in their stables
