My first show in forever and I forgot what to do

Help! I'm going to show Molly on Saturday for the first time in four years as I've fixed our trailer loading problem!! The only problem is I haven't shown in so long I forgot what I have to do to get ready. So....any help would be great!!


I'm cleaning her tack and bathing her and I've got all my show clothes. Anything you think I might overlook?

Thanks for all your help! (also, how do you not get nervous?) cause Molly don't do too well with a nervous nelly up top

Make a list!

Start at the top or in the case of the horse at the front and work down ie. hat, hairnet, tie, shirt, jacket, gloves, cane, jods, boots, spurs. Bridle, saddle, boots, travel boots, rugs, tail bandage - then grooming kit, water, hay, treats, money, car keys!!!

I usually find this works - good luck

I would also add in... bucket, check grooming kit has- baby oil or shine spray and hoof oil (as these things I'm likely to forget as they are not day to day), spare breeches (rain or dirt), spare clothes to wear home if you get wet, first aid kit (hopefully if you have it you won't need it), sat nav or good directions and check car for fuel water oil, drink and snack for you (there isn't always time to go to the hot dog wagon) and baby wipes the most useful invention ever!!!

And most importantly HAVE FUN!!!

Passport. Girth. Bit, if you chop and change bits with bridles. Hat silk in appropriate colour if you don't have a show hat. Money. Loo roll (the portaloos often run out). Bailer twine and a pen and paper always comes in handy for something.

These are the most forgotten things here.
