Well they took me along with my new big sister to something called Wellington, I could not see what all the fuss was about, getting in the big white box to go and see a boot when there are boots all over the yard.
Anyhow off we went and it was quite a nice journey and Wellington turned out to be a place and not a boot and I was there to do something called cross country! My new mum had already walked the course earlier in the day and I heard her talking to granny about the scary white water, there is never any white water on my favourite sj course not sure I was going to like this lark. Anyway mum said I was being very good in the warm up for a 5yo and off we went to the start. No's 1 and 2 were just roll tops and they seemed easy enough, 2 jumped into the woods but it was dark in there, 4 was a log hidden round a corner, 5 could not make up it's mind if it was a step down or a ditch, 6 were some rails with a sneaky drop the other side but have seen lots of those out hunting, 7 was a tiger trap easy peasy, then I saw it like the sahara in the distance shining white and bright, I put reverse gear on but mum was having none of it and her legs were going a gooden I was just about to tell her to stop when I realised I was in the white stuff and it was not so bad (bit nippy mind) when everyone around me cheered which made me leap in the air, but off we went to no 9 to some solid triangle fence but I flew that, I was starting to enjoy this. 10 was up a bank and off again and over a log, then another log, then another drop and up another very skinny bank some fool had a log on top as well as a log to get off again, then onto some barrels they were not so bad, then some tyres, then a flowery fence that was a bit scary but everyone clapped me again not so frightening this time, onto a trakhener which was a bit gappy but they said I made a good job, what do you think
Then just a hay rack and home, mum said she was really pleased
as I had done a clear round. We didn't get a rossie as mum said she was not going to do the timed section with hand brake turns like the little ponies until I was bigger.
Then I was fed lots of treats and carrots and put back in the big white box, which was fine til my big sister went off to jump the bigger fences, I was a bit frightened on my own but mum and gran just ignored me until I settled myself down - then told me I was a good girl and gave me a carrot. I had a lovely day, and best of all mum says I can stay out and play tomorrow. Lots of love Piggy x
