My friend has just e mailed me to say that the lady who wanted to share her Dales x mare has just had a ride on her and declared her to be far too much for her to handle. I am totally amazed because I used to exercise her twice a week for years and she was lovely. I am a rubbish rider but I never had any problems. She is certainly strong and she gets over excited when jumping and can thow the odd big spook but what horse can't? The potential sharer teaches children to ride on Saturday mornings at the livery yard where the horse is kept so my friend thought that she would make an ideal sharer and was all happy about it. Her hours have at work have just been cut so she really needs to find a sharer soon

Is she advertising her anywhere? She won't find anyone unless she advertises. I've found both of my loan horses by word of mouth but only because they were from people who weren't in a rush to loan them out, just waiting for the right home. If she's in a rush then she needs to advertise.

She has put up an ad in the local tack shop but had no response so far, except from a young girl who wasn't suitable because the mare is very strong, although very safe too. The horse is kept on a riding school/livery yard and she's asked the YO to let people know that she is looking for a sharer. Fingers crossed that she gets someone soon.

Thanks chestnut cob. I'm going to e mail her to suggest that she tries Horsemart and the local paper etc. She may already have done that but she hadn't the last time I spoke to her.

Why is there never anything/one available when you need it.

I'm looking for a share (I need a horse, not a rider) but there is just nothing in my area.
The worse thing is I am forking out for lesson at my local stables just so that I can get my fix, the money spent there could go on costs towards share. Moan Moan Moan.....

......Moan Over.
