I have just taken some old bits of gold jewellery to be valued for scrap , and it was only a few bits that hardly weighed anything, and come away with £350 ! This is half of my vet bill! So any of you out there struggling for cash have a trawl round your jewellery box.

Be very careful with the on line dealers that are advertising all over the place at the moment for this - there have been loads of items in the news recently about people who have sent off their jewellry only to get no money, no enough money or the quote is not good enough so they request their gold back only to find it has already been melted down!

Yes, definitely steer clear of possible on line firms.Took to local bod who has been in town for long time. I thought it would be about £100, so am well pleased. Mind you now have long list of other things horsey wise that I could spend money on. Best go and look down the sides of the armchair !
