i can sympathise, lost ours in a field accident, its horrible
It does get easier but it takes time, allow yourself the time and do talk about it.
I think because when a horse has an accident is pts you have to help the vet, make the decision, hold your horse, the horse you love so much and be there when its life ends. With a person, its all taken out of your hands by paramedics, nurses, doctors.
It will hit you when you least expect but please allow yourself to grieve xxxxx

So sorry for you This is one of my nightmare situations with horses and every time I see them racing in the field I am both happy for them and terrified for their stick legs!
We can't do much about it though, it happens to horses and us equally
