One of the lovely liveries at the yard gave me a gift yesterday, which was a lovely lovely supprise, so I tried it on the girls tonight!
I think Lidl didnt have hairy, muddy Fells in mind when it made its fleece rugs!!:D

Anyway, I took far too many pics to bore you all with - sorry!
Condition wise how do they look? Seren (little one!) is nearly 5 months pregnant and weighs 296kg on the tape, Melly is out of work (clipped for thermo-management), has bone spavin in both hocks, and weights 483kg on the tape.

So sorry for the overload - choc for anyone who hasnt screamed and given up by now!!x

Whay beautiful, kind, gentle looking horses you have. Have to say tho', Melly does look on the chubby side. Hard to manage those types I know.

:) Thank you both! They are indeed very kind, and very special to me, I wouldnt change them for the world!
PoppyAnderson, yep, Mels is like me, carrying a tad too much! She has lost about 150kg since I bought her, and you can feel ribs, but she could stand to lose some more! They are on zero grazing, so its just a case of trying to keep it off! Shes the only horse I know that put weight ON last year in the snow!! x

Melly looks just like my Saffy (I think you commented on this in my first clipping post), she also put weight on in the snow and lives on fresh air! They would make a lovely pair. Do you know her breeding and what height is she? Saffy is 14.3hh and I have no idea of her breeding as she was rescued by World Horse Welfare.

Oh they're booooootiful!

I have to say that I like to see horses holding a little bit of weight at this time of year - I've got two INCREDIBLY poor doers, and I spend my life wishing I could suck a bit of fat off the others and squidge it onto them for the start of winter!

Hi Katherine, yep, it was me commenting on Saffy! They are like peas in a pod arent they! Mels is 14.2/14.3 and ment to be a Fell - she isnt papered though - I'd say saffy had some Fell in her too :)

Yaaaaaaaay Starzaan!! :D Thanks for coming to see my babies! You are more than welcome to come and steal some of Mellys flab for your poor doers!

xx

hmm bronte used to be a poor doer (wierd as she is a dales pony) then i put her on blue chip and all seems fine she is worked quite hard though
30 mins lunging in the morning
2-3 hour ride in the evening
but then again i am trying to keep her super fit to keep up with the tb when hunting just trying to give her the best chance possible can i steal that fell she is so cute love her

:) :) :) :) I love that people love my girls! :) :) :) Its so nice when people share your view of something!
Ummmmm, I'll take a pass on Melly stealage ta, she's my sanity buffer! lol! xxx :D
