Trendybraincell (one 1/4 of our team) has already put up her report, so here is my bit!
Finished plaiting and got home from the yard at 10.55pm the night before due to work, so come my 6am alarm call getting up was rather difficult! Got to the yard and sorted out both ponies, and was ready to leave early and got there with plenty of time.
For Genie the first class was the RWHS qualifier -p12. She's not been the most cooperative recently at compeititons, so I was very pleased with how well she worked in with minimal arguments. The test felt fabulous! It was great to trot round beforehand and see a friendly face in the judges box - monkeybum13 was writing.
Took her back to the lorry for a bit then went back to work in for the team test. I found out we had got 66.4% and were in the lead, a great score for that particular judge and there were scores in the low 50s. At that point we were leading the arena.
Did my team test which to me felt worse, but in her break straight after the judge came up to me and said it was much better - what do I know?! Got off the pony and found out that we had won the RWHS Qualifier by a clear 2%!!!!
So in May Genie and I will be off for the championships at Royal Windsor! Yay! I had planned on entering Titchy to show, but now I can take my wonderful welsh one!
I had to leg it home with the pony to get her out, and then ran home, showered, and went off to rehearsal for a concert I was doing last night. Popped by the dressage on the way and with three scores to go I was leading my arena on 69.5% (same judge!)! Had to leave before the final scores went up so did a three hour rehearsal, waiting for a text from trendybraincell. She text me later on saying I had come 2nd in the arena. Cue more smiles!
Overall our team did really well. As tbc said in her report, one of our novice riders was on a horse she rode for the first time the day before, so did fantastically considering! Tbc got 5th in her arena, and our other prelim rider did well, so our team came 3rd overall!
Last night I did a concert from 7.30-10, so flopped to bed, but I am so so proud of my wonderful pony! I'm not very good at writing comp reports so thank you for reading!
Anybody else going to Royal Windsor?
Ooh and I met another HHO'er - it was lovely to meet you and I hope you did well!!!
I will link to pics when they are up!
