My heart is broken

I know I have done the right thing. I just hope one day we will be reunited again in one way or another. It was an honour to have had such a special friend in my life.

A lovely tribute to a great dog by someone who sounds to have been a great dog owner and done the right thing when needed, no matter how hard.

I feel for you, I really do. My old boy is 15, urine incontinent and shaky back legs as well as deaf! I know the time he has with me is limited and I choke up every time I think of it. I have had him since he was 5 weeks old and he was such a lad in his time it is really sad to see the old man he has become. In his younger days no female was safe and he has/had many children around the neighbourhood until the vet spoilt his fun!

Be strong - you have made the hardest decision for yourself but the kindest one for your best friend!

Your post has brought me close to tears. It is such a hard decision but the best ones are the hardest. She's had a lovely life and lived to a ripe age. Sending you massive hugs xxx

I am very sorry to hear of your tragic loss. You gave Rita a truly wonderful life and did right by her up until the very end. Think of the happy moments you shared and try and try not to let a negative thought enter your mind.

Many hugs to you. xx

what a lucky dog to have had you as an owner, I keep my horse on a small yard where there are boarding kennels, thye also have rescues in and it breaks my heart to see them knowing most of them have had a bad past :( and their owners never deserved them but then theres people like you that make me realize there are fab people out there :0) x

How are you doing OP? As a dog owner, I simply can't imagine how much your heart is breaking. I hope you manage to find some peace . . . and RIP your little pup.
