So I’ll try and make this succinct. 17 year old highland retired three years ago with fractured stifle. Never more than 2/10 -3/10 lame. Vet advised not to ride but happy he’s paddock sound no pain relief required. I had no idea how he would be so decided to let him have a happy time in a big field with some buddies. He’s muzzled in summer but still eats plenty! I clip and leave unrugged in winter. Small chest clip to try and help him lose weight. Anyway up until a couple of weeks ago he’d always rest his bad leg as soon as he was still. He’s now weight bearing more often than not and I’m very pleasantly surprised I am super pleased for him. It’s a really weird one. Only difference is some boswelia and celery seed. Appreciate any thoughts.

After teeth were extracted, the vet dentist advised paracetamol alongside his fibrocoxib. It made such a difference to him! At first I assumed it was because the teeth had been sorted, and stopped them, but after a couple of weeks of slowing down and not quite himself, I restarted them. Yaaay! Got my happy boy back! Glad to hear you have got yours back too.

Boswellia is a clinically proven treatment for arthritis. Long may the improvement continue (but watch him for signs of stomach pain or headache, it's a known side effect and mine couldn't take it, though most seem fine with it).
