my 5 yr old horse has recently stopped tracking up properly and has been moving her left leg out slightly. she has also started going disunited in canter, she doesnt like it when i tighten her girth either. im worried it could be arthitis or could it just be inbalance issues?

have her back checked and tack etc she will get sore as she grows and develops muscle, the may be avoiding the pain by not tracking up - get someone to trot her up to see if she is lame

It could be many things and you really need to get a vet to diagnose what is wrong, it is impossible to get an answer for something like this from a forum, everyone could suggest something different which will leave you even more worried.
Get a vet out, it is more than likely a minor injury or muscle pull and you will be able to get treatment started.

yes we have had the vet out and shes not lame, she was used for pulling a cart when she was younger when i didnt own her. when i watch her walk/trot she moves her leg out ever so slightly. and she couldnt really see a problem as she said alot of horses she sees does it but its nothing to worry about, so the next step should i get the saddler out to see if her saddle fits?
thanks

So if the vet has given her a check and she is not lame it should not be anything too serious, I would get a good physio to check her, they will also look at the saddle as part of the treatment, it is likely to be a tight or sore muscle and easily treated.

oh ok thank you :) we will do that, i keep panicing its ocd/arthritis, but the vet said she couldnt find anything, but shes coming out again next week so we will take it from there, im just a little worrier hehe :) i wanted to see if anyone was going through a similar thing with their horse x

I note that your horse is 5 yrs old.
IMO your next step should be to get a saddler to check the fit of your saddle. Your horse has probably changed shape since her saddle was last checked. She is obviously uncomfortable when you are girthing and it is likely that the reason she feels unlevel is that she is trying to escape discomfort, rather than has a mechanical problem.
