I've had my cob 6 years and he's always been on a good worming programme. The last three years that has included egg counts which have always been clear. I decided to try the new saliva test for tapeworm this spring as I was a little worried about the rescue pony I have taken on as a companion since he had some resistance issues with redworm. Well the rescue pony is fine but my cob has come back high and treatment recommended! Really surprised as I wasn't expecting it at all and he is looking really well this winter.

Thanks Buddy'sMum, he has a result of 1.96 which seems pretty high looking at the thresholds but hopefully it is just the one worm. He was wormed for tapeworm last Nov. Just funny that I was worrying about the pony and never really considered the possibility my cob would have any.
