Does anyone ever feel it is just one thing after another with their horses.
Well the other week my horse lost a shoe in his stable but took half his foot with the shoe.
Got that sorted then he over reaches in the field as a horse that shouldnt be in with him got in with him and friend and runs them round. So hence big cut on bulb of his heel, out of work for couple of days to heal a bit.

That heals over, horse then cuts his head all down one side, not bad I might add but doesnt look nice. And then today he was in the field with his friend, went to catch them and mine runs off, not normal for him at all. Friend got other horse and I went to get mine but decides not to come in, he starts pacing up and down along the next field where other horses are and generally tear arsing around.

He then rears over a 5 bar gate. I then decided enough was enough so I legged it to get his feed to run back to horse rearing over the gate and actually got stuck on it, so he is pulling away but getting more stuck. He managed to get untangled and come straight over. He is now dog lame and two gashes down his leg where he got stuck. Have cleaned it and put some cream on it.

You would think my horse is 2 years old he is so stupid and dopey. It really got to me today though and I had a cry. I just feel its all happening to me.
I know people have it worse but I wanted a moan.

Oh he really is, hes a great lump of 17.2 throwing himself around and damaging himself. I just want my horse to be fine. Was really looking forward to showing him but doesnt look like that going to happen. To be fair though I would much rather have a sound horse than go to a show but would have been nice though.
 
Join the club. One tweaks a suspensory, then gets an abcess, just coming into work then the other one is lame, don't know why after some xrays and nerve blocks then a slight infection in one foot, has no shoes and is really sore. I am currently at the vets every week, best mates with the vets, know all the nurses and see the remedial farrier up to 3 times per week! I just take the lorry keys up now ready to ferry the next one to the vets!!
 
Glad it not just me, I hope everyones luck improves though. It is a nightmare having horses. To be honest I had a 14.2 coloured, my first pony who was no bother at all. I had her three years and only needed vet for jabs, never went lame or did anything.
 
I was just saying today I had my ex racer in Cyprus no insurance (does not exist there) used to spend all my time creaming up and down mountains and in 5 years nothing nada no vet (apart from normal jabs) farrier just used to turn up to put shoes on never had a days illness or injury.

Come over to holland buy a 3.5 year old and we have managed to;

cut our coronet band to ribbons,

discoverd we have something wrong with our 1st vertebre and hip oh and an ulcer due to the pain....this involved both the Vet and the Chiropractor

and just when i thought i may actually get to ride the little sod and move him to a non training livery nearer home he goes and casts himself and now needs at least 3 months off!

I tell you next time I am taking up a cheap hobbly like flying lessons!
 
I know its frustrating isnt it. I feel like I cannot be bothered with the stress, Ok I dont mean that but it gets a little tiring going up everyday wondering what hes done this time.
 
Yep...Apparantly Michael Jackson died this week! I have not watched the news, or had a conversation this week that did not revolve around casting, lameness, tying up and bloody shedding skin!
 
Oh yes I saw the post on the one shedding skin. hope hes ok? How horrible, I couldnt post on it made me feel bit queezy the pics as was eatiing
