Vet was out today to do the old girl's teeth, and what I thought was a missing incisor is actually just a very gap-toothed smile...she has all 6 incisors just paced very far apart. Vet was intrigued and pronounced her 'interesting'
Is it wrong that I am weirdly proud?! Does anyone else have a gap-toothed horse? :D
Oh, and it turns out she is even more of a golden oldie than I thought - 25 not 22, and the person I bought her from thought she was 18....

My horse has only 5 incisors on top instead of 6. The missing one was kicked out as a youngster & there was a tooth-sized gap when I bought him aged 4. The gap has gradually closed as he got older.

I have two pronouced 'intreseting' by the vet and my second one has also been called 'intresting' by a thermopraphy person doing training and a massage person. Sometimes i think boring and normal would be good!

When 2 vet's took a sharp intake of breath in unison, as they scanned my boy, I instantly knew it was going to be interesting.

In my book it was heartbreakingly sad rather than interesting.

I would love to be able to retire and spend time with specialist equine vets, just watching and learning from their work and experience.

Mine is. After doing considerable ligament damage, her level of lameness was in no way comparable with the scans. Vet actually brought a few colleagues at different times to look at the pony who's scans should have depicted a very unsound horse, but who was always far sounder than she should have been. She also has small wolf teeth, which apart from needing a quick rasp to stop them getting sharp have never caused any issues. Various vets & edts have said no need to remove them.

Mine was officially "interesting" when the vet discovered on testicle was so high in his abdomen she had to use the ultrasound to find it! In the channel to allow the testicles to drop there was a loop of ball cord but no ball! Just over 1k of surgery to make my lad a gelding!
