So as it was a nice evening, and I had some spare time after a horrid week I decided that I would get the photos taken of newly smartened up Ron and then go out for a gentle amble up the road. You can imagine the scene...

Nice quiet country lane, birds singing, lambs frolicing... herd of guinea fowl in the road, peacock on the wall. Someone's newly painted the bench halfway up the hill, someone else has put a new white gate on their driveway. Someone's putting out their wheelybin. Ron shies at the horse engulfing pothole. Then at the newly trimmed hedge. Then at a pile of cow muck that's on the road.

So much for a peaceful evening ride! ;)

But the pics do at least show how smart he is now! But he's a typical teenager and can only cope with photos by looking sullen or pulling faces... (sorry the pics are huge, I don't know how to resize them!)

He looks lovely, markings very unique, love the little splodges on his muzzel too. With such a lovely peacefull evening they have to do something to keep us awake and make sure we are paying the proper attention to them :D

Ooo I love his markings and the fact you were able to get him to stand still without being held, whilst you took the picture :)

the difficulty usually lies in getting him to move around the yard! Usually if he's not tied up all he wants to do is go into his stable! Can't trust Tom to stand still though, he's too inclined to wander off to cause trouble!

They can be such twonks can't they? Yesterday mine found a roof thatcher was obviously some sort of pteradactyl and completely believed that a pot with chinese markings in someone's garden had demonic runes. There were also obviously satanic death monsters hiding under some dock leaves.:)
