On hot days my horse has discovered that bathing in her water is very nice! :D The problem is that she more often than not tips it over leaving herself with nothing to drink. Her water container is always full in the morning & I always refill it again in the afternoon but I worry that she has none available during the day while I am at work. I do have a friend on the yard who, when she is not at work, will fill it up if she's tipped it over - but this is not every day.

I have tried various different containers but she baths in them all! At the moment I am using a giant "bendy bucket" type container that I peg down with baler twine but she just pulls the pegs out

She is in a fly rug this year, but did it last year too & was naked then.

I have thought about an old bath but I need to be able to move it between paddocks & field to field so I dont think its really an option.

She will actually stand in the field whilst I am refilling the bucket & be hosed lol!

Any suggestions gratefully received! Thank you :)

Thank you, I did try this but she got a cut on her fetlock & I was paranoid she'd got her foot caught in between bucket & tyre so took it away again! She baths by putting her front leg into the bucket & pawing, therefore splashing the water over herself! Bless her ;)

Thank you :) We have just started using a heavyish, plastic "barrel" type container, which though she still baths in, she doesnt tip over! At least she now has access water (albeit muddy water!) all day :D
