Today i left him in as it seems yesterday he had a right party round his field his legs were plastered and belly, hence he lost a shoe, amazed as he wears over reach boots. Anyway my mum reckons im mad to leave him in cos he has no shoe, have i done the right thing, he does get soft soles and his feet are looking really nice now so didnt want to mess them up. i hand walked him this am and will later as well. just wait for farrier to call why are they hard to get hold of.

Mine lives out, pulled a shoe off about 10 days ago and it's another week before the farrier comes! I couldn't see the point in calling him out to put it back on when Harl probably would have been ridden once before hewas reshod anyway.

My horse was shod last Friday and had a party in the field and pulled a shoe off on the Saturday!! Luckily, the farrier (who is amazing) came out on the Saturday to put it back on but my horse had really wrenched it off and was a bit sore so I've left him in. Gong to ask YO if he can go in a different field as his other one is knee deep in mud and I can't be calling the farrier every other day to put shoes back on! If only the fields would dry up a bit! (And horses stop hurling around like loonies!!).

Depends on the horse and the ground. IF it is rock hard I tend to leave them in rather than in the winter when it is soft, I coubt it will do much damage.

My horse quite often loses shoes, and gets very footsore. However i still always turn him out. If he's living out i don't bring him in as i can't ride him and he does feel it when walking up the lane.

If I can get a farrier the next day I'll keep him in, otherwise he has to go out. Either way I'll pad & vet wrap the foot then cover with loads of duck tape.

My farrier prefers him in as he has poor feet & it makes it hard to get a shoe back on if the hoof's broken up. I get told off if it isn't well padded and taped up when he comes!

I wouldnt leave a horse in BECAUSE he pulled a shoe off, but i dont think there is anything wrong with leaving a horse in because if hes only got three shoes.....it doesnt matter what you do really
