Recently my mare who I've owned since last October, has started putting her head between her legs and pinging on the spot, when I push her into canter over the local common. She doesn't do this in the school it's getting me down I've come off her once which really knocked my confidence.
I put it down to excitement with her I just want her to stop doing it and ride through it.
Her saddle, back and teeth have all been checked. She's 8 and hanovarian. She's not at all Mareish. Any suggestions please

If you are lacking confidence now you may be contributing to this by holding her too tightly as you ask for canter, I would forget about cantering for a while, especially if this is happening at the same place, concentrate on getting her really trotting forward instead, you can do a few transitions to keep her listening then once she is taking you nicely in trot you should be able to pop into canter towards the end. Make sure you don't always ask her to canter in the same place, they start to anticipate and get silly like she has or they can take charge and race off which is not what you want either.
