So we were doing a bit of loose jumping. We were up at about 3 foot so nothing too big & she was cantering round and popping them in a lovely manner. Until she sauntered up to the arena gate in a half walk/trot & tried to jump it.
She misjudged it terribly.
She got her front legs over it and half of her chest and was stuck on it, scrabbling around, legs flailing. In sort of a slow motion she turned upside down, managed to free herself, thrashed a bit and landed on her bum (still in the arena).
I could do nothing but watch in horror. Miraculously, she got up & cantered off - not a mark on her. After checking she wasn't lame I sent her on and she happily and calmly jumped again, not a problem, not bothered. I was a wreck!!
I genuinely thought I was going to be looking at broken legs or worse. Soooo relieved, silly, silly little mare...
