Today 3 Tamworth sows arrived on our farm. They will be outdoor pigs but until harvest we have no fields for them so they are staying in. Anyway I had to lead my horse past them on her way out to the field and she was hilarious.
She did all the normal arched neck snorting business as the pigs were snuffling under the bottom of the door at her but then the really weird bit: she got brave enough to actually look over the door at them and made a noise that honestly sounded exactly like a proper piggy oink
Well it must have sounded right because it really set the pigs off (whatever she said I don't think it was polite
)
Her mate has been on a farm with pigs before and didn't bat an eye at them but I'm interested to hear if anyone else has heard of this. i've always said that horses are only scared of pigs because they hardly ever see them but I never heard any horse make that kind of noise before!
Bit of a pointless post really but I thought I'd share it all the same xx
