My horse thinks I'm inadequate!

I sent my horse off for some schooling livery whilst I was on holiday for a fortnight.

He worked nicely for me before he went away but of course the trainer got him working lovely and demonstrated what they'd been working on to me when I went to collect him.

I've had my horse back a couple of weeks now and I really feel as if he is just thinking ' oh no, not you back on board again!' and we've gone backwards. He's become increasingly inattentive, often ignoring my aids and I'm finding him quite lazy. I'm due to have a lesson next week, but has anyone else ever encountered similar problems?

Thanks

when my horse went for schooling i felt exactly the same way you will proberbly find he will get better when you start having your lessons

Oh yes... my horse managed to convey "at last someone who can ride" as he danced lightly past with my instructor!

Mine too!! Does his 'I'm a perfect dressage pony' impersonation when my trainer rides him and looks like butter wouldn't melt.

I climb on and he's like 'yeah, whatever...'

I have to admit I was secretly quite pleased when D didn't behave perfectly for my RI either, made me feel a whole lot better that it was her and not just me.
