Absolutely right!

Or a very ill person. I think people would be less likely to do this - hence why I've never heard of anyone doing this before.

My friends brother has/had schizophrenia, and did some very odd things. He wasn't an "arsehole", nor was the rest of the country doing the kind of things he was.

The person might not be ill, but the point still stands that you can't generalise. I haven't seen anyone post on here to say that they have done the same thing - and if it was a "nation of arseholes" you would expect MORE people to be doing this, than people not doing it.

I'm glad you got your horse back DD, what a scary experience for you!

It does not cost mega bucks and the cost is not taken into account when there is a likelyhood of catching an offender for a priority crime (which burglary is). It matters not whether it's a substantive offence or an attempt, the sentence and the detection rate is exactly the same.

Fingerprints are weak evidence, a DNA hit is strong evidence.

I have been a police sergeant for 14 years and spent 10 years on CID and I have never refused to carry out forensic analysis on any case

No, it wouldn't have mattered in this instance, but had she gone further in slightly more sinister and organised circumstances, it might have made a difference. Not that I mean anything by it but you got her back almost before it had sunk in she was gone.

I'm really glad she came to no harm with the traffic. Phew!

Have you been assigned a crime ref. no. yet? This is the person you need to speak to...

Inspector Steven Mildren, he's in charge of the Newbridge beat. Even though a lot of the regular police don't know one end of a horse from another it doesn't change the fact that your horse was stolen, it's a crime, and it's only by sheer good luck that she's back with you. I've just been looking on the Avon and Somerset police website, there's an appeal for witnesses regarding the theft of a telly in Wellington...FFS...bangs head on keyboard...and your horse was taken and they won't even come out to you? Aaaarrrgh!!!!
