Likewise can't comment on confirmation, if you get a chance to take some more photos try and get her to stand square it makes it easier to see any confirmation issues also would like to see photo from behind. I saw your photos from a previous post you have done an amazing job keep up the hard work!!

I can't either but Well done you for taking on an ex-racer and a chestnut one :)

So did I and he looks so like your girl... till you get to the legs. Same age too. She looks absolutely wonderful.

I didn't see your previous thread so I know not what went on. What faults has she got?

You're only in stoke so maybe we may get to get these 2 to meet on a fun ride some day. Were off to the gallops up by Tarporley next month...

She's lovely, needs a bit of topline though, I like to see TB's with a bit more weight than that too, but for coming out of winter, not bad at all, but don't know as top photo of body makes her look much leaner than the following photos. Beautiful face.

they are quite rubbish photos cause theyre all from different times!
i'll take new ones at some point and re-do this thread :)
she had absolutely no topline when she came and is slowly starting to gain some, can definitely tell aswell! she feels so much stronger to ride, and you can actually sit on her back in canter now instead of always going into light seat!

arent they just the best?! :P

previous thread was just pictures of her when i got her and pictures of her now :)

ive heard of tarporley before but cant remember where it is!
have you ever been on the fun ride at Somerford Park?

some of her faults...
close behind
muscle thickening in near hind pastern & also a tiny bump at the back just below hock (vet has no idea what it is but it wont effect her :))
small nostrils
quite long pasterns = more pressure on joints

there are more but cant think at the minute :P

Oh dear we run the risk of turning this into a public PM session :D - maybe rename this thread - calling all 5 year old chestnut ex-racers?!?

Maybe with her faults just give her some gentle meanders around the fun rides? a walk in the sun is lovely, all chilled out and never to be under estimated. The odd canter if she's feeling up to it? Sorry - I tend to wrap animals in cotton wool.

Not heard of Somerford but then again we only went out for our first seasons ride this sunday (only had my boy over the miserable winter so far) and now my wife and instructor are talking about all these other wonderful rides they're gonna take me and Sleepy to (A.K.A. SLeeping Dragon)

I'm terrible for this (thread jacking) but hope you don't mind if i post a few pics of my boy out at Kelsall hill?

This was the first day we got him... complete with the tacky knackered head collar the previous owner had been hitting him on the head with (alledgedly)

hes so pretty!
got a similar head to my horse :)

Ria can do anything really! no major problems at all and is 100% sound. i just take things steady with her just incase. she jumped 1m10 last week, is still fine and loves her work :D
i dont have a say in if we canter or not, she just does! lol!
