Was fab
Didn't think I would find it, but it was actually fairly easy
Brought back some memories for me though, driving around the Cotswolds as my Gran lived about 15 miles from Talland!! If only I knew that when I was younger!!
Git there early and was shown around. there were lots of lessons in the big indoor, which i thought would mean everyone would get in each others way, but it is so big it doesn't matter
Went and met my horse, he was a bay 15.2ish ex intermediate eventer
called Kay, and he had one eye! He was a sweetie, quite quiet and easy to handle, which was a relief when I took him out his stable and it was blowing a gale outside and snowing
I am from the South, it never snows down there!!
Got on and wandered over to Brian, who was lovely
and a really good teacher. To be honest I had no idea what to expect, i though the people here would be a little, I don't know how to say it without being rude,
'snobby'
but really, everyone was really lovely and down to earth!!
Just did some work in walk, trot and some canter and I discovered that my bad rein is my right rein
lol!! He said I adapted and took his comments on board really well and I even managed to get a few 'oohh that's lovely's when I rode some trot after our canter!! Kay was slightly 'sticky' and the canter really loosened him up
Brian picked up on a few little positional faults that I need to work on, even though it feels completely alien - things like I lean slightly forward, I look down and my right shoulder is slightly higher. I do have awful posture!!
Then after my lesson I had a beef sarnie and a can of fizz and watched an advanced dressage lesson.......I just love being around horses!!
Didn't really get any decent pictures......my photographer was ill and couldn't come (*get well soon!*) so i managed to swipe a bystander and she took some, but she was quite far away and I look teeny. But here's a couple so you get the jist

Any CC welcome of course, but it might take a while for me to make room for it after today
*Oh and, I had never sat in a dressage saddle until today!
