Well yesterday i had a lessona and he wanted to work on a natural outline so did light seat ect and it worked she used her behind and streched and said it could be worth me doing that excise one a week just to help her get more of a natural outline :D

also he said sometimes why things may be harder for me is because im too tall for her and because im mostly leg they dont sit were they should and im banging on the the back of her saddle so i have to really think about what im doing and if i grow im going to have problems on her :/
but i must say that was amazing lesson learnt so much last night :D

Good report :)

Yikes re. the leg thing :(. D1 is having the same issue on her 13.3hh cob :(. She'll never outgrow him weight wise, and he'll always cope with her hacking and poddling about (he takes me okay), but the length of her legs are going to cause a problem. D1 is out of juniors this October, so life is going to change anyway.

It's the eternal issue faced by a lot of children/teenagers I'm afraid.

Hugs and a hot choccy right back at you (complete with flake and sprinkles :D).

well done, lessons are the only way foreward for you- keep at it!!

Height wise I think it is possible to get away with it, when I was 16 I had a 14.1h pony and I was 5'11 with 35" legs (had shot up aged 14!) and I just hiked my stirrups up - we looked silly but he was the best jumping pony ever.

It took a good couple of years to get used to riding longer though once I got bigger horse!

i will :D thanks :)
i know i know but where the top of my legs are too long its pushing me back and im bounching on the back of her saddle and i dont want her cause her back problems :(
and i cant ride that short as i have a knee injury :/
thanks alot tho guys :D

Sounds a fab lesson, well done you!
re the long leg thing - are you quite long from knee to hip? My legs are fairly normal, but the knee to hip length is pretty long and it caused me a few probs with fitting on my saddle, but not a prob with fitting on my horse! If your saddle doesn't allow you to fit your legs on then it will push you back in the saddle. Try not to worry about fitting your horse, with the right saddle that fits the both of you you can overcome alot of height issues!!

Well done sounds like a great lesson. Just a thought. You could look at getting a new saddle in the future. Even if she can't take bigger one a different cut might help.
