Well major breakthrough thankfully. I have been able to groom all of them (except the little grulla) now and they love it! I have them following me about the field and they are looking much brighter now. I have been able to stroke the grulla for seconds at a time without him walking away, but I don't want to push him therefore little and often will no doubt work for him.

The buckskin and the darker palomino are literally eating out of my hand and I am thrilled! The blanket appy is halter trained now and will lead perfectly and stand to have his feet picked up and fiddled with.

The lighter palomino still doesn't want to stand right next to me but I managed to groom her over the top of one of the others.

Poor little blighters, but I am pleased to say I can see a difference in them over the past day or two. Feeding has definitely helped though, and today the lighter palomino ate her feed too, once again a breakthrough. The only one who doesn't know what to do with the feed is the grulla, but I'm sure he will figure it out by watching the others.

I think it's great news and I'm proud of them for being so brave.

Will try to get some piccies of them over the next few days for you. I haven't had my trusty camera out with me since returning from the States.

They are starting to look interested in things - they didn't look like this earlier in the week. There seems to be a bit of a spark in their eyes now thank goodness.

Me too. Thanks guys. I didn't do a whole lot with them because I knew I was going away to the States so didn't want to start something that I couldn't do every day.

I've just been out with the little lovelies a minute ago and yes I am sure they look happier.

Grulla is a sort of grey coloured horse with stripes and dorsal stripes on it's body. I think they are sort of ugly actually, but people seem to really like them over here.

Yes it always amazes me how quickly they come round too. I'm pleased they have though as I was starting to get slightly anxious about them. I will take some piccies soon.

Hope you don't mind me asking Tia, but what happened about the foal that you were selling to your friend that you weren't sure you wanted to sell in the end? Did you find her another?

Yes I did! I decided to keep our homebred one and I found her this one to replace her - the lighter palomino in the middle. She's very happy with her.
