Our little Highland (or Moose as you lot named him) who was born a couple of days ago is fighting a nasty infection, he went down hill quickly last night. Absolutely gutted. His mum was diagnosed with EHV on Boxing day, it was never confirmed though, so we dont know if this is whats causing him to be so ill or whether its the steroids she was given. The vet was absolutely amazed she had even gone to full term with him considering the amount of drugs the mare had had. Please keep everything crossed for him, hes a little fighter :(

Everything crossed. I had a poorly foal last year that vets didn't have much hope for & shouldn't have gone full term...... he is currently sparked out in field with a 'grass hangover' with his big sister.

Come on little moose, we're all praying for u xx

Poor little thing...fingers crossed he will be OK, foals can go down hill quickly but they can bounce back quickly too.

I am so sorry for you and wee Moose. Having had a couple of poorly foals (but usually caused by retention of meconium) I know how quickly they go downhill, but equally once that problem is resolved they bounce back. I am thinking of you both.

Come on little moosie, ur so handsome and I'm sure your a light fighter. Get well soon so u can run rings round your human and your mum
