MY LIVERY YARD OWNER WILL NO GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK

I apologise... it seems I did missread your post, however it is written in quite a missleading style which would lead to such assumptions and my opinion hasn't changed I'm affraid. If you pay a month upfront, you can't expect to get any of it back. If I were planning on leaving, I'd actually hand my notice in at the start of my month and explain that I wouldn't be paying my two week's livery but that she could keep my deposit instead which is equal to two weeks livery as I have heard of people having trouble getting deposits back in legitimate circumstances.
 
As a YO I would not give you any money back! It's your choice to leave. Contract or no contract (all my liveries are given a contract and must give 4 week notice) you shouldn't expect to get your money back IMO.
 
If i was in this situation and wanted to move asap i would forget the money and mark it up to experience. Chances are you'd have to pay to hold the stable at the new yard anyway so there's no point staying longer at a place you are getting hassle. It is horrible being on a yard where the YO, or anyone else for that matter, is giving you grief for whatever reason.

Some of the replies on this thread make me hope i never again feel the need to ask for help or advice on here. Heaven help me if my spelling is not correct or i make grammatical errors, how on earth will people understand what i'm trying to say! There is no need to be rude when all someone is asking for is other peoples opinions, especially when the exact details of the entire senario aren't there in black and white.

There are liveries from hell but there are also yard owners from hell!!
 
I agree Nadinek... I've read this thread a couple of times and have been appalled at some of the posts on here. Quite frankly some if you need to grow up, and the fact that some of you have made these comments shows immaturity and is totally unnecessary.
OP, as others have said, I think you need to accept you are not really entitled to your money back, and wish you the best of luck on your new yard

Thank you. As i stated before i have moved to my new yard forgetting the money. I do agree that some people have been rude, But to state the obvious if someone is going to be rude to me when i am paying i dont see why i should be treated the way i was.

Therefore i do not see me moving with short notice an issue. Yes it might be polite to give notice, but if i am in such a bad way why pay my respect to someone who has shown me and my horse none what so ever. At the end of the day i want to do best by my boy, Which i have. Some of you may not agree but at the end of the day what is done is done.

Being rude to them because they've been rude to you makes you the same sort as person as the person you're moaning about, not the quiet "wouldn't harm a fly" type you think that you are!

I dont see how this is being 'rude' me leaving swiftly and quietly is the best for both people as no more problems can be created. There is a waiting list for the stable as is a popular choice of yards in my area. I do not appreciate your views on my personality when you know nothing about me or the situation i was in.
