It does sound very worrying. Did anything happen to him at the show? Spooked or knock himself? How did he behave at the show? I would say get the vet out to give him a once over, get the saddler to check his saddle fit, etc?

After alot of experiences with horses suddenly becoming "naughty" I have come to realise it is almost always more than often that there is something behind it. I rode a little pony called Cherry for a while. She was never the best behaved but suddenly one day she began to buck me off. She bucked me off 3 times in all of half an hour. I stopped riding her after that. We didn't realise it at the time but she have been in extreme pain. I didn't quite get the full details but we got a phonecall a couple of months down the line saying it had been discovered she had a tumor or lump on her back. There was nothing they could and she was put to sleep. RIP Cherry. It was very sad.

Please get the vet to have a look. Horses dont just change like that. And I am sorry to hear of your situation,

Laura.

I would be calling the vet out firstly then have his teeth and saddle checked. If the behaviour is out of character, it is more than likely that he is in pain.

Are you sending him back or investigating first?

he had just had a new saddle and it fits perfect, i have had his teeth and back checked and i know he hasnt knocked himself although he was very VERY naughty at the show he just kept bucking and rearing with me on him maybe hes just a naughty 5yo but there's still the fact of how much he's drinking
