My lunatic 14 year old pony.

hey all, Yesterday i hacked my 14 year old irish pony to his holiday field 5 minutes up the road from our yard like i have many times before, he was fine most of the way but then decided to throw a temper tantrum in the middle of the road, rearing and spinning for no apparent reason, he's never dne this before , any ideas on how to make sure he doesn't turn it into a habit?? thanks

Have his tack, teeth and back checked??

Could he have been excited about going on "holiday"??

He could well have been excited but usually just buggers off when he is, he's teeth,back and tack are all fine and checked often, especially with the summer season in full swing, was jumping 1.10 on him at a show tuesady, he may just be over fit,

It could be anything silly, did he hear or see something that you didnt. Was there alot of flies about that were annoying him.
