My mare & I need a hug.

So horrible, my mare lost her foal last night, it was due in June. Such a waste & so sad, not just a life wasted, but all the hopes & dreams that were riding on it. At least I didnt lose both of them. Mare seems a lot happier than she has for a long time, although foal looked perfect, I do think nature knows best in these situations. Doesnt stop the heartache tho!

I’m so,so, so sorry for you!! We have been though exactly the same this year, our mare lost her foal after two days (the foal was born a month early).

We aren’t sure at the moment. She is currently being a surrogate Mum to a foal that lost it’s Mummy, so at least some good has come out of it. She has really taken to the new foal and the foal to her luckily. So at least she is still being a mummy.

Thank you all for your thoughts - I have told Pippa ( my mare) that lots of people care - tho she doesnt seem in the least bit bothered now!!!!
