My mare keeps bombing off with me. help!

Hi all, thanks so much for your advice, have put her in a flash and been working on those transitions with a nice calm horse for company and the other day we actually CANTERED through a field! No wild gallops anymore! She is also on NAF Magic calmer (power stuff) and its helped take the edge off her! She's so much better now than she was before and I took her out on my own the other day and she was bril =D Thanks soooo much! Think I've pinpointed her behaviour to seasons changing, her opening her mouth all the time and I think i may have been throwing the reins at her a little too much and have since been keeping a bit more of a contact and has helped heaps! Thanks again!

great news you have cracked it - as you said be careful about using hedge to stop - i tried this out hunting when i had him on snaffle rein and he jumped it into next field (had never jumped a hedge in our lives b4!) If you have more issues I find my cheltenham gag brilliant - I ride on the snaffle rein but have the gag rein knotted over neck and pick it up ready to use if need be when about to do any fast work or jumping - it def. works ! without it I would be in trouble (like yours good to school etc its just the really fun stuff that needs the gag).
