Hello my mare went lame yesterday afternoon on her front nearside leg. She doesn't want to put any weight on it but if she has to will only put weight on the toe. She has got a crack on the hoof going from the coronet band down to about half way which i think is called a quarter crack, this is being sorted by the farrier but she has had this a while and has not affected her so far. I gave her a ball in her stable yesterday to give her something to do as she isn't going out atm and the person that owns the yard I'm at thinks she could of been a bit too aggressive with the ball which could of made her lame but I'm not sure. About 5 months ago she went lame on her other front leg which turned out to be navicular but only very mildly so that has been sorted now. Does anyone think it could be the crack that's making her lame, or the ball in her stable, or navicular in that foot as well or any other reasons for the lameness. I just don't know what to do, please help.

Thank you
