He looked fine as a brought him in, obviously gave him a fright, was stood there looking at the gate like this  and snorting, idiot boy.

Obviously going to trot him up today and check for heat/swelling.

To try and cut a long story a little bit shorter, my boy and my dads boy have been moved to a field on there own. If I bring mine in, in the day Ted is fine, and visa versa, however if it's near bringing in time, Ted is normally okay will just come and check if anybodies coming to get him, no trouble. But my moron pony kicks the gate. I obviously then have to go get him, but yesterday he inevitably got his stupid little foot stuck. Which obviously gave me and him a massive fright as he could of broken his bloody leg! Luckily he got free and pulled the gate from it's hinges.

Apart from the obvious of just making sure I bring him in at the same time, any advice?

Thanks:o

Nothing except the obvious, don't leave him on his own

Mine is fine if he goes out on his own and stays on his own, but if he is turned out with another, he expects to be brought in with it

put a little electric tape pen around the gateway so that he can't get to the gate;) i do this when one of mine gets too attatched to his field mate and starts trying to barge his way through the gate:rolleyes:

I feel like I should explain a little more. He's being more like a spoilt brat, haha. He has mares directly next to him.. And he's fine in the day if dads horse is taken out... It's only around bringing in time, when dad brings his in to ride..

You could attach some wooden board or a rubber mat along the bottom half of the gate to stop him getting his leg through, quite afew yards have this. My pony would do that too, he loves to put his feet through things like that.....just to wind me up probably :D

I'll have to ask yard manager who would then discuss with owners if that would be possible..
Either electric fencing pen, or rubber mats/boards.
We'd obviously pay for everything and do it ourselves. Trouble is they'll eventually move fields so we'd have to do all the gates.

I honestly think it's just the bloody noise he likes cos it gets him attention:rolleyes:

You can buy gate-sized pieces of galvanised mesh from farm shops - I have this on my metal gate - to stop them getting their feet through. Mine is attached with heavy duty cable ties. This method is easy to install, and if you then move you can easily cut the ties and take your mesh with you to the next place.

Ah! Excellent, thank you, have to look into these, I don't think it'd be a problem providing we can move it around from gate to gate :)

I use Equi-fencing (a tight form of sheep netting) to stop the horses kicking through the Post and Rail fencing and gates
