I simply had to post and share the most amazing day I have ever had in my life on Saturday!

My lovely OH bought a day for me at North Farm Andalusians for my Christmas pressie and I really wanted to share it.

I had an amazing lesson on a beautiful gelding with one of their instructors James. I then watched one of the chaps school one of their beautiful black Advanced dressage stallions and then he asked me if I would like to ride him! I accepted of course! At this point my boyfriend turned up and watched me ride. It was amazing. He was beautifully schooled, but it was so different - a little bit like driving a Ferrari - not as easy as it had been made to look! After some lunch I was introduced to their horses and Sheila showed me her new foals - 2 chestnut fillies, apparently very rare in Andalusians. All these horses (most were stallions) were amazing and calm and so very affectionate.

Later that afternoon I had another lesson with Polly on her cute little Andalusian, Manuel (from Barcelona!) and she taught me how to do an extended trot! This was the most amazing thing I have ever done as I never thought I would have been able to do it!

The whole day was so special, though I am sad to say that I got so carried away I didn't take any photos

Everyone made me feel so welcome and special that I will never forget it. I rode the best I ever have and I now know that I can ride, I just have to work hard at it!

This is an indulgent post I know, but only 3 of my friends understand the excitement of what I did & achieved on Saturday. So yay me!!!

It was lovely! Sheila also told me about the Andalusians they rescue from people buying them from Spain having no horse knowledge at all. These beautiful horses get ruined! One man kept one in his Summer house and got someone to teach it to sit like a dog! appalling!

Though all these Stallions are stabled next to each other, you would think it was a barn full of geldings!!

Am now 100% totally addicted!!

You lucky thing!!
My friend round the corner from me has an Andalusian -he is a beautiful horse. She has many a rosette from dressage competitions.
You must go again as you have the excuse that you need to take some piccies!
Merry Christmas,
Nicki

I love them!!! I cannot praise Sheila enough, she was so accommodating. I tell you it isn't something you come across alot in the horsie world. It wasn't very expensive either - certainly not for what I did.

**sigh!**
