So proud of her and Buds, I walked with them and we went out for a half hour ramble! She hasn't ridden properly since being a kid but is a lovely natural rider and Buddy really looked after her :p
Anyone else take up regular riding in their fiftes to inspire her?
Buddy is hard to get forward in the school but think she is going to have a lesson with my instructor in the near future and maybe do some more hacking. Very proud of them both :D She has been the best most supportive mum, takes us all over, always there for lessons etc etc as well as a finacial and emotional crutch! Couldn't of done anything without her, she's the best. And really enjoyed herself today :)

Buddy looking distinctly bored after a 10 min chat with the neighbours, stood very well though!

Thanks for looking :p

Aw go Mum! She looks like she never missed a day... except maybe concentrating down the hill!!!

Buddy is doing a great job looking after her it seems :):):):)

Haha downhill was most amusing ''I think he needs his wheels balancing!!!'' :p

They were both superb, even had a sneaky trot (I nearly died running up the hill).

Thank you Billie07, he is really growing into himself! I hope she carries on abit too, but we'll see if she can still walk tomorrow first hehe!

Good on your mum! I took up riding at the age of 42 having never riden before, got bitten by the bug and bought my first horse at the age of 45. I turn 50 in a couple of weeks time and am still loving it! Most of the people on my yard are of a more 'mature' age :D

Aww how happy is she! Buddy looks lovely. Does she have her chaps on the wrong legs though?

aha you spotted the 'deliberate' mistake ;) we were just setting off and I spotted it, a squeaky reply came ''oh for gods sake is that the most important thing right now!!'' hehe. she soon relaxed though :p

Ahh she looks really happy up there and Bud looks quite happy with her being there too!

My mum hadn't ridden in nearly 30 years - then took on a 5 year old cob with all the manners of a dustbin - had lots of fun with him along with the struggles!! We used to go out hacking for hours, went everywhere :) So tell your mum....it most definitely can be done!

Lol, just checking no one had invented a new type of something that I didn't own!;)

Glad she relaxed & enjoyed herself, your boy looks lovely.

Thank you for the lovely replies!! :)

She has recently lost over 3 stone, didn't want to ride untill she had reached her goal so it was an even doubly proud moment :p.

I'm trying to convince her she really wants to purchase a lovely mw irish mare i've seen.... its not working thus far :o
