My nan's Cairn x Yorkie terrier was attacked on Saturday, by three spaniels (I believe they were Springers). Bonnie is, as you can imagine, tiny, and was set upon by the three dogs whilst they were off leads being walked by their owner, on a footpath.
Bonnie was thrown into the air and savaged by two of the dogs. When my nan - who is frail herself and walks with the aid of a stick - finally managed to pick Bonnie up, the third spaniel jumped on to her back and was trying to attack both my nan and Bonnie.
Poor Bonnie was taken straight to the emergency vets where she has had to have dozens of stitches and is suffering from extensive internal bruising and suspected broken ribs.
The owner of the spaniels - who was entirely unsuccessful in controlling the dogs whilst they attacked - offered a half hearted apology. My nan has sent her the substantial vets bill.
In my opinion, my nan should have reported the incident to the police - thoughts?? The dogs were not under control and attacked both a dog and a human.
Vibes please for poor Bonnie, she is one sore little terrier today
