Introducing my new pony 'Jt'

Hes a 16hh, 4yr old TB and hes very kindly on loan from R2R on here, with hopefully view to buy in the future!

R2R finds him a bit small but hes such a lovely boy that she was nervous of sending him off into unknown hands. I was a bit nervous of jumping straight into horse ownership so soon after Vaya so this arrangement is perfect!

Ive had him one week and 2 days and I have to say that im totally in love with him! Hes everything I could have possibly wanted. It was a bit of a heart rules head thing as I was originally looking to get a 6/7yr old partbred irish horse but I loved his pretty, cheeky face the moment I saw him.

Also when I went to try him and R2R was riding him for me there was a lunge whip on the floor and Jt saw it last minute and did a beautiful jump over it. It sounds silly but It reminded me of Vaya and how she used to just jump. I thought if thats his first instinct when he sees something under his feet then he'll do for me!

Hes so strightforward and laidback, he acts more like a 10yr old, not a 4 yr old. He settled straight in to our yard and its like hes been here all his life. I first rode him after a week off, in a strange school and he was foot perfect. Since then ive ridden him in the dark, around goats, in the snow and hes been a star.

R2R has done a fab job with him and the basics are there, I just cant wait to get him going properly once this stupid snow and rock hard ground has cleared up! Hes also got lovely paces for a stick insect, really picks his knees up.

Hes easy for a TB but I can sense he has a cheeky side and hes sensitive, you ask him something once and he remembers which is so nice! Im sure its not going to be all plain sailing but I feel so comfortable on him im prepared for his baby moments

.

Here are some piccies of his fist week with me. Hes pretty much a blank canvas so he needs ALOT of building up but with consistent work and time to grow that will come.. he looks like a daddy long legs at the moment!

He's gorgeous. The company I work for bred and sold his dam (assuming he's the 2005 Where Or When / Chelsea). We still have a few members of the family. The best racehorse in recent times from this line was ROB ROY (a Group 2 winner who was 2nd in the Champion Stakes GR1).

We sold Chelsea as a 3 year old for £73,500 at Tattersalls December Sale in 1996. She went on to win a race as a 4 year old for her new connections. She was quite small too.
